Planchette, meaning "little plank" in French, is a device that was used in Victorian-era seances and later popularized by use with Ouija boards. These planchettes are hand-cut in jeweler's brass and hammered, using an antique anvil made by my husband's great grandfather out of old railroad track, for a unique texture reminiscent of lichen or moss. They are hand-stamped with "YES" on one and "NO" on the other.
These measure just over an inch wide and hang 2 1/2 inches including the brass marquise ear wires.
